Capacity Building Grant Program Accepting Applications

Applications for our Strengthening Organizations grant program are ongoing. The next application deadline is September 1, 2014 at 9 p.m. Eligible nonprofit organizations apply for grants to build the capacity of their organizations. Eligibility is limited to 501(c)3 nonprofit, or equivalent, organizations location in the state of Alaska.

Donor Spotlight: Joyce & Jerry Klein

Joyce and Jerry Klein married September 6, 1974. After a few of work trips to Alaska, Jerry brought Joyce up and she too fell in love with our state. The two bought a house on the hillside in Anchorage and began their great Alaskan adventure. Forty years later, Joyce established the JJ Klein Scholarship while still living in their first home.

Scholarship Highlight: Sara Wise

Sara Wise plans to double major in Chinese language and International Studies. Her academic pursuits will take her far from Alaska and her alma mater of West High School – all the way to Indiana University, Bloomington. There she plans to graduate in the spring of 2018.

We are excited to celebrate Sara’s achievements and congratulate her on her recent award of the Dr. Merritt C. Olson Scholarship.
