The Alaska Community Foundation and Engine 557 Restoration Company proudly announce the receipt of two grants in support of the restoration of former Alaska Railroad steam locomotive #557…The Engine 557 Restoration Company was established in 2012 and is at the halfway point of a four-year-long major overhaul and restoration of the locomotive.
The Alaska Community Foundation is proud to announce the award recipients of our second quarter Strengthening Organizations capacity building grant program. Approximately $34,000 was awarded to 10 Alaskan organizations.
The Ketchikan Community Foundation is a permanent fund for the Ketchikan region. Their vision for Ketchikan is a diversified local economy that provides family-supported employment, access to affordable housing and healthcare, a vibrant arts community, and multiple recreational and quality educational opportunities.
