The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nina Kemppel as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Kemppel will join ACF in mid-October and will continue to build awareness of the organization’s role as a place where individuals, nonprofit agencies and other funders can create lasting change through charitable endowments.

The Professional Development of Volunteer Administrators Fund was established by the Anchorage Association for Volunteer Administrators to promote professional development of volunteer administrators. Awarded funds may support activities such as attending trainings/conferences and related expenses.

The Anchorage Schools Foundation was created to make grants in support of activities that enhance the success of students in the Anchorage School District. Past grants have included awards to purchase classroom supplies, recreational equipment and uniforms, books, technology, instruments, and other material needs that support enhanced student success. Special consideration will be given to projects that support current ASD initiatives such as innovative mathematics projects, engaging seniors, supporting pre-k, safe schools, and service learning.
