The Alaska Community Foundation and Engine 557 Restoration Company proudly announce the receipt of two grants in support of the restoration of former Alaska Railroad steam locomotive #557…The Engine 557 Restoration Company was established in 2012 and is at the halfway point of a four-year-long major overhaul and restoration of the locomotive.

Capacity Building Grant Program Accepting Applications

Applications for our Strengthening Organizations grant program are ongoing. The next application deadline is September 1, 2014 at 9 p.m. Eligible nonprofit organizations apply for grants to build the capacity of their organizations. Eligibility is limited to 501(c)3 nonprofit, or equivalent, organizations location in the state of Alaska.
