The Chugach Park Fund is helping make trails safer and more accessible, one volunteer workday event at a time. These hands-on events, supported by a grant from the Anchorage Trail Care Fund, do more than maintain trails, they build community and strengthen our connection to the 500,000+ acres of Chugach State Park accessible from Anchorage trailheads.
From Girdwood to Eklutna, neighbors, volunteers, and trail lovers are stepping up to care for the soft surface trails that connect us to nature and to one another. Thanks to the Anchorage Trail Care Fund, five community-led projects received support this year for on-the-ground trail improvements.
