Scholarship Application Open: January 19, 2023 - March 15, 2023

The George & Stephanie Suddock Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships to support Alaskan high school graduates achieve their fullest potential, with the goal of helping students improve their lives and improve their communities. The scholarship seeks to provide students with the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the United States. It is George and Stephanie’s hope to award recipients who ultimately have an interest in returning to Alaska if they pursue higher education outside of the state. Awards will be given to a cohort of five (5) students from across the state of Alaska to ensure statewide representation.


Five (5) scholarships of $25,000 each will be awarded. Scholarships are eligible for renewal up to four (4) years as long as the student remains in good standing at their academic institution. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduate of an Alaskan high school
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Will be attending first year of college in 2023
  • Planning to enroll full-time as an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university in the United States

Preference:

  • Students with a demonstrated financial need

Applicants are asked to provide:

  • Personal Essay
  • Up to Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Verification of Enrollment (Proof of Application or Letter of Acceptance)
  • High School Transcript
  • FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) to demonstrate financial need
  • Resume highlighting school activities and community involvement
  • Finalists will be asked to participate in an interview

IMPORTANT: Successful applicants must submit their student ID number and program information by June 30, 2023 to ACF through the online system before their award can be disbursed. Failure to do so will be an automatic forfeiture of the award unless student chooses an award deferment.
