The Anchorage Schools Foundation was created to make grants to support activities that enhance students’ success in the Anchorage School District. School professionals are invited to apply, including principals, teachers, nurses, counselors, administrators, and certified staff.
Deadline for Applications – November 3, 2023, by 5:00 pm
Projects should reflect an innovative or creative approach to education; impact multiple students; demonstrate sustainability if start-up funds are requested, and be completed within the 2023-2024 academic year.
Past grants have included awards to:
- Purchase classroom supplies
- Recreational equipment and uniforms
- Classroom or Library books
- Technology components
- Instruments or sheet music
- Emergency needs
- Material needs that support enhanced student success
Special consideration will be given to projects that support current ASD initiatives, such as innovative mathematics projects, engaging seniors, supporting Pre-K, safe schools, and service-learning.
Typical grant awards will range from $100 – $750.
If you are a past recipient of an Anchorage Schools Foundation grant, all grant reporting must be completed before you will be eligible to be considered for another grant. Approved grant awards will be dispersed to the ASD Education Center – Finance Department and must be fully expended within the 2023-2024 academic year.
Awards are ideally made in late November, and grant funds are sent out in late December. Projects
should be planned, and funds spent for the school year’s 3rd and/or 4th quarter. Final reporting is due a year after the award date.
The applicant must work at the school where the grant project activities occur. The authorizing official of the school should be the principal.
