THE STRENGTHENING ORGANIZATIONS FUND OFFERS OPERATIONAL SUPPORT TO ALASKAN NONPROFITS FOR THE ELEVENTH YEAR |
The Alaska Community Foundation has partnered with the Rasmuson Foundation for the eleventh year to support nonprofit capacity-building projects.
“These small grants make an enormous difference for nonprofits, tribes, and local governments,” said Monica Garcia-Itchoak, the Rasmuson Foundation Strengthening Organizations Program Officer. “Staff and boards get needed training, and organizations are supported in their efforts to help Alaskans and Alaska communities thrive. We appreciate all The Alaska Community Foundation does to ensure this program’s success.”
The Strengthening Organizations grant opportunity allows applicants to better achieve their mission by funding systems support, employee training, and the resources they need to deliver services successfully. The focus on operational support allows the Fund to impact nonprofits and communities across the state and strengthen a wide range of programs and causes. They have included the Alaska Press Club, which used their award to build board capacity to help rural Alaska journalists thrive. Volunteers for Alaska received trauma-informed training for staff, and the Juneau Jazz & Classics received leadership coaching and support.
The Alaska Community Foundation is delighted to offer this opportunity to ensure nonprofits have the resources to realize their essential role in strengthening Alaska’s communities. To learn more about the Fund and past recipients, visit our website.
