Alaina is a double graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Public Policy and City & Regional Planning as well as a Master of Public Policy (MPP). Her policy focus lies at the crossroads of local food systems, urban design, and environmental justice. A passion for social advocacy and building community drew Alaina to the Alaska Community Foundation. With her academic background in data analysis and visualization, commitment to the public sector, and lived experience, Alaina is excited to help ACF realize its community impact statewide.

Beyond her professional interests, Alaina was drawn to Alaska by its sense of close-knit community, commitment to maintaining a connection with the land, and opportunities for outdoor adventures. When not at work, you can find Alaina at a local coffee shop, cooking for her community, seeing live music with friends, learning to forage more of her food, or traipsing through the woods somewhere!
