Pausing the 2025 Strengthening Organizations Spring Grant Cycle

The last several weeks have ushered in unprecedented changes at the federal level, generating widespread uncertainty and dramatically shifting the landscape of needs in Alaska. Many organizations are facing crises, seeking expert advice on what to do, how to survive, and whether they can quickly pivot to a new funding model.

As our partners at The Foraker Group detailed in their recent report about the potential impact of federal funding changes on Alaska nonprofits:

“While the situation is changing daily, it is certain that fear, confusion, distraction, and chaos are causing nonprofits and others to question how to move forward with staffing, service delivery, and construction projects.”

The Strengthening Organizations opportunity is designed to support capacity-building efforts that rely on a stable and relatively predictable near-term future – in other words, not the context we find ourselves in today. For these reasons, we’ve decided to pause the opening of the Strengthening Organizations Spring grant cycle.

We do not take this decision lightly. We recognize that this is yet another shift in an already unstable funding environment. However, we want to ensure that the funding opportunities we offer are responsive, relevant, and as impactful as possible.
