On Thursday, April 10th from 4:30 to 6 p.m., The Alaska Community Foundation will host a community conversation on “Housing First”, the service treatment model based on the concept that a homeless individual or family’s primary need is housing and that by providing housing, service providers are better able to reach their target audiences.
Invited guest panelists include Melinda Freeman (RurAL CAP), Jerry Jenkins (Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, Inc), Darrell Hess (Municipal Ombudsman) and Mark Lessard (Anchorage Safety Patrol & Center)
This Conversation About Causes That Matter is part of the Recover Alaska Media Project. Support for these conversations comes from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Recover Alaska. To learn more about Recover Alaska, visit their website or follow them on social media with #RecoverAK.
This community is open to the public and free. A live webcast of the conversation is also available for those who are unable to attend in-person.
