Scholarship Application Open: December 1, 2020 - March 31, 2021

A scholarship fund to support graduates from Dimond High School and students at Alaska Dance Theatre focused in advanced study of dance, in memory of Melissa Faye Pike, who tragically lost her life in a car accident in 2008.

The Melissa Faye Pike Memorial Scholarship is not currently accepting applications.

The Melissa Faye Pike Memorial Scholarship offers awards for two different paths. Applicants may apply for this scholarship to cover tuition costs at Alaska Dance Theatre or a graduating Dimond High School senior may apply for post-secondary education funding. The application deadline has passed for 2019.

Melissa Faye Pike Memorial Scholarship is established to assist Dimond High School or Alaska Dance Theatre students who intend to pursue a career in Theater/Visual Arts or Veterinarian Studies. This scholarship opportunity is available for tuition costs at Alaska Dance Theatre for any current high school students. Graduating seniors of Dimond High School may also apply for the scholarship to be used for post-secondary education.

Melissa Faye Pike (1991-2008) was a Dimond High School student with a love of the arts and animals. Her love for animals showed from childhood and all through her short life. In 2007 she was a model for the Eva Foundation; she competed in the Miss Teen Alaska Pageant, modeled for a magazine called AKX, and her picture was used as an advertisement for a cosmetic store in the Dimond Center. Her career was on the upswing as she was getting connected with Directors and Producers to further her career in acting. During Melissa’s short life, she always wanted to go on missions to feed starving people as she did not like seeing people suffer. She was compassionate, loving, happy, easy going, loved fashion, excitement, modeling, animals, & dancing.
