Melody grew up on a small Island in coastal Massachusetts, where she developed a deep admiration for the natural world and a love of exploration. In her twenties, led by her adventurous spirit, she moved to Seattle, Washington, where she expanded her knowledge of hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, and general adulthood. Seattle is also where she met her husband of twenty years, owned and operated a business at the Pike Place Market, and loved a Chesapeake Bay Retriever who inspired her every day for twelve and a half years.

Before moving to Anchorage, she founded a nonprofit organization called the Community Garden Alliance (CGA) in Spokane, Washington. The CGA’s mission is to grow food, create access and feed the hungry. In the four years of development and organization, the CGA was able to develop, donate and deliver food to 25 families, free of charge, every week each growing season. This experience has had a lasting impact on how Melody views her relationship with her community, the responsibility she feels toward making a difference, and her sense of gratitude for the nonprofit sector’s work.

Melody’s experience in operational management and her passion for efficient logistics has prepared her for success in the BP Energy Center manager role. She is extremely honored to be part of ACF and looks forward to being a supportive member of this wonderful team.
