Jessie moved to Alaska in 2006 to pursue a bachelor’s in marine biology. While she came here for science, she is still here because of philanthropy. Jessie’s first experience in the nonprofit sector was as the Community Engagement Manager for the National MS Society, Greater Northwest in 2011. During her time with NMSS, she received a master’s in public administration with an emphasis on management and organizational theory.
In 2015, Jessie took the Community Engagement Director position with Credit Union 1, but the nonprofit sector was calling her back, so in 2018 she took the Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager position with The Alaska Community Foundation.
“I’ve always looked up to ACF so when I had the opportunity to work here, I jumped on it. ACF embodies philanthropy in Alaska by supporting all the work the nonprofit sector does. Pick.Click.Give. being a program of ACF provides yet another valuable tool to fundraise for these nonprofits.”
When not working with nonprofits across the state, Jessie is teaching scuba diving lessons in Whittier and Seward.
