Alaska’s economy is in bad shape, jobs are decreasing (Anchorage alone lost 2,700 jobs in 2016) and we need creative solutions to start generating money for our state, our communities, our families, and the next generation. We have amazing individuals and groups with awesome business ideas who just need a little structured guidance, consistent support, and hands on training. If we can meet them where they are and provide the above for them they will develop successful businesses or become loyal long term employees to companies in need.
The Business Boutique Training Center is a 501(3) nonprofit organization and a sister organization to The Business Boutique founded in 2009 (reformed in 2013) in Anchorage, Alaska. On April 1st, 2017 we opened our new community business development and career training center located in downtown Anchorage at 410 Denali Street Anchorage AK 99501. The center provides training programs in small business ownership, bookkeeping, customer service, hospitality and tourism, and computer technology; test proctoring; a la carte classes as requested (with the option of field classes in locations not within driving distance of the center); and service Alaskans with extreme barriers to employment that need customized training and certifications. Classes are taught by industry experts with experience in their respective fields.
Our center uses the barrier first method which means all attendees goes through intensive barrier management training to ensure their transition into the workplace or business ownership is a success by addressing 15 barriers to employment. At the completion of each program all attendees will receive customized barrier centered employment coaching to ensure they are work ready and will have the option to intern on site in the program they graduated in.
