All of ACF's open grant opportunities are listed on our Grant Opportunities page. If you don't see an opportunity there that fits your organization or project, we don't currently have anything that is a good fit right now.

If you'd like to be notified when ACF opens new opportunities, sign up to receive notifications.

Most of our competitive grant programs are run through ACF's online grant application portal Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM). If the opportunity you are applying for does not use GLM, it will be noted in the listing on the Grant Opportunities page.

For a tutorial on GLM, including how to create an account and start an application, visit the GLM Applicant Tutorial. If you need more technical help with the portal, you can contact us or GLM's technical support team over email at support@foundant.com or on the phone at 877-297-0043.

ACF's grant opportunities are determined by many factors, including the interests and priorities of our donors and partners. If a previous grant opportunity is no longer listed, that means ACF is unlikely to open it again. The originating funds may be spent down, or the fund advisors may have decided to use a different grantmaking strategy.

While ACF used to offer PDF versions of grant guidelines and application questions on our website, we have stopped doing this. We found that we did not have the capacity to ensure that these many dozens of documents were up-to-date and accurate, and we spent a lot of time addressing problems that arose from applicants using old or inaccurate versions.

Instead, all grant guidelines are now housed on our Grant Opportunities page as well as in the application portal where you submit your application.

Once an application is open in our portal, you can preview the questions and download a PDF of the question list by clicking the "Preview" button at the bottom of the opportunity. Once you are previewing the application, you can click the "Question List" button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to download the PDF version. This ensures you are always viewing the most accurate and up-t0-date version of the application.

No, we are no longer offering formal draft reviews. While the purpose of formal draft reviews was to increase the accessibility of our grant processes, we discovered that, overwhelmingly, the applicants that requested draft reviews were our most experienced grant writers and most sophisticated nonprofits. By offering draft reviews, we ended up dedicating lots of time and resources to the people and organizations who needed it least!

Instead, we've decided to re-direct that energy to other efforts to improve our application process.

All that being said, we are happy to answer specific questions about your draft application over email or phone. Please email grants@alaskacf.org or call us at 907-334-6700.

While you can use different logins for different organizations, there is now a way to use one login for multiple organizations. Please send us an email at grants@alaskacf.org  to have your profile added to a new organization. Please visit this tutorial on using one login for multiple locations for additional information.

Yes! Our online grant application and management portal, Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM) allows you to invite collaborators to your request.

Yes! If you want to apply again for a project you proposed in a previous cycle, our online grant application and management portal, Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM) allows you to copy your previous request to a new application.

Once all applications are submitted, ACF staff must review the application to ensure everything is complete and that the organization and project are eligible. Then, the applications are sent to volunteer review committees. Since the volume of reading is fairly heavy, we like to provide 2-3 weeks for review. Then, the selection committee meets to discuss the application and make decisions. Occasionally, there is additional follow-up required before a final slate of awards is ready to be shared. The whole process takes 4-6 weeks on average, but can take more or less time depending on the specific opportunity.

Yes! In most cases, ACF would prefer that you request an extension or change to your project rather than return the grant funds. In some cases, particularly when the originating funds are from a federal or state agency, we may have limited ability to approve change requests. But in most cases, ACF will work with your organization to ensure you can use all the grant funds awarded.

Ideally, your revised project will retain the same overarching mission. It must stay within the parameters of the grant program. Project activities and costs are still subject to the same standard eligibility requirements.

Please note that some grant opportunities require that you have completed all reporting requirements for previous awards before you can re-apply.

If you are ready to request a project change or extension, please email grants@alaskacf.org with details including an overview of the changes, a revised project budget if applicable, and a revised reporting timeline if applicable.

Staff turnover and role changes happen! And we recognize that sometimes applications and grant follow-ups like agreements and reports need to be handed off.

Please email grants@alaskacf.org with as many details as you know to help us transfer ownership of the project(s) in our grants application and management portal. Don't worry if you don't know the specific name of the project(s). While we prefer you share with us as many details as you know so we can be of most help, we'll just need your organization's name to get started.

Since overdue reports cannot be turned in without an extension, please email grants@alaskacf.org with a request to extend the due date. For Affiliate grant cycles, please email affiliates@alaskacf.org.
