Ken is an interim executive and management consultant and the founder and owner of Kizuna LLC. He was raised in Fairbanks, or as Anchorage residents know it, the City on the edge of Nowhere.
Ken graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and earned a doctorate at the Claremont Graduate University Center for Politics and Economics. He served in the Alaska Army National Guard as an airborne infantryman and worked in Washington, DC, for BiosGroup, a national consulting firm that applied the tools of complexity science to solve problems for Fortune 500 and government clients.
In 2003 Ken made the leap to the nonprofit sector as executive director of Alaska 20/20, where he brought to fruition a years-long statewide civic engagement effort and produced The Alaska Progress Report, a social, economic, and environmental report card for Alaska.
In 2006 he joined AARP, Alaska’s largest membership organization, as state director, where he led a team that created statewide social impact in health care, financial security, and livable communities.
In 2019 Ken founded Kizuna LLC, a management consulting firm, and became a consultant with The Foraker Group. With Foraker, he has helped an arts organization navigate the pandemic, assisted a social service nonprofit in modernizing its business processes, and led quality improvement and reaccreditation projects for a regional behavioral health organization.
