Raised in Alaska, Anne received her undergraduate degree in fine arts from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1984 and her master’s degree in education from City University at Seattle, Washington in 1996.
Anne is also a member of the International Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She is a former board member for the AFP-Alaska Chapter and co-chair of the 2018 Alaska Philanthropy Day. She is also a member of the Anchorage Estate Planning Council; and Anchorage East Rotary. Anne has achieved her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) accreditation in 2015.
Anne served as founder for five nonprofits: the Preeclampsia Foundation (1999), the Lake Washington Schools Foundation (2005), the International Pre-eclampsia Alliance (2006), the Microsoft Alumni Foundation (2007), the Unexpected Project (2011). She is served as a nonprofit fundraising and management consultant for a variety of nonprofits in Washington and Alaska.
Anne is a frequent writer and speaker on fundraising topics, both in Alaska and nationwide. She is a 2007 L’Oréal-Paris Woman of Worth for her work founding the Preeclampsia Foundation, and 2017 recipient of Good Housekeeping’s 50 Women over 50.
Anne is the mother of four adult sons: Jonathan, Sebastian, Kieran and Gabriel, and in her free time is a writer and artist. She lives with her partner Eric, son Gabriel and husky mix Hailey in Anchorage and enjoys upcycling, baking, traveling, and all things Alaska.
