Every child deserves the opportunity to be successful and prepared for life—that’s why we remove in and out-of-school barriers for students experiencing poverty and instability. We do this through our work in:
- Early childhood literacy (birth-age five): Sending children in economically disadvantaged areas a free book/month in partnership with Best Beginnings Imagination Library.
- Community PLUS Schools (pre-k – 8th grade): Connecting chronically absent students to community supports and out-of-school activities that increase their attendance and connection to school.
- Back on Track (9th – 12th grade): Connecting students to community supports and credit recovery options to prepare them for work and life and increase the graduation rate in Anchorage.
