Legacies that Realize Dreams

The Megan Rawson Scholarship Fund

When Megan Rawson, a young, talented teacher, passed away from a brain tumor in 2016, she left behind a legacy that will enable others to realize her dreams. Passionate about teaching after spending a year with Teach for America in New Mexico, Megan devoted herself to education after she returned to her hometown of Anchorage and began teaching at East High School. It was Megan’s wish to establish a scholarship for others who shared her dream. In the grief following her passing, hundreds of friends, family and community members contributed to Megan’s scholarship. Her memory lives on through future students whose dreams Megan’s scholarship is now able to fulfill.
