Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Fund

The donor establishes this Fund with the intent to promote leadership and volunteer community service through the Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute (PYLI), particularly among under-resourced, middle, high school, and university first-year students who would have qualified for the University of Alaska Anchorage Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, and the UAA ASPIRE Programs. Many of these students attend or attended Bartlett, East and West Anchorage High Schools, and the feeder middle schools of Begich, Central, Clark, Romig and Wendler. The Fund shall support high quality leadership training such as the Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute and leadership programs that incorporate Alaska PYLI curriculum, community service activities, service-learning methods, creative leadership exercises, and student volunteerism that addresses community problems through student-led volunteer service projects.

Friends of the Talkeetna Library Endowment Fund

This is an agency endowment fund established for the Talkeetna Library. Its purposes are to support the local library and its programs, raise community awareness of resources and services available at the library, enhance services and resources provided by the library, and be a liaison between the community and the library staff.

Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center Fund (Non-Endowed)

The Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center, an educational institution of the Haines Borough, is committed to collecting preserving and interpreting the history, art and unique blend of diverse cultures within the Chilkat Valley region.

The Sheldon Museum’s presentation of artifacts, clan trust property, and memorabilia enhances quality of life for area residents and visitors; informs researchers and historians; inspires artists and creative writers; and encourages community pride through permanent, temporary, and traveling exhibits, and through a variety of outreach programs for schools and the public.

Benjamin B. Talley Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Benjamin B. Talley Scholarship Endowment Fund is established by the Anchorage Post, Society of American Military Engineers, excusively for educational purposes, including provision of scholarships to post-high school students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical educational fields of study.

Central Kenai Peninsula Wellness for Youth Fund

This field of interest fund will provide small grants to eligible organizations in the Central Kenai Peninsula. Eligible organizations will include youth-oriented organizations that are passionate about youth leadership, development and support for youth leaders in an alcohol, drug, and tobacco-free environment. Grants will be recommended by the Kenai Peninsula Foundation advisory board.

Josephine’s Dream

This scholarship is in memory of Josephine Goodman, a young Alaskan who cared deeply for animals of all kinds. Those who knew Josephine understood her silly and warm-hearted spirit. A uniquely vibrant personality, Josephine was fashionable, spiritual, and caring – even loving the shoes that did not fit her and the animals she was allergic to.

Mountain View Community Fund

The purpose of the Mountain View Community Fund is to make grants that promote a strong thriving Mountain View neighborhood of Anchorage, Alaska, with a special focus on creating education and workforce development opportunities for children, youth and young adults.

Chugach Park Fund

The Chugach Park Fund is established to enable Alaskans to enjoy the beauty of Chugach State Park by enhancing trails and providing upgrades to the park for increased access and enjoyment.
