Donor Advised Funds
A fund to support trails and nature in Southcentral Alaska
The donor establishes this Fund with the intent to promote leadership and volunteer community service through the Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute (PYLI), particularly among under-resourced, middle, high school, and university first-year students who would have qualified for the University of Alaska Anchorage Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, and the UAA ASPIRE Programs. Many of these students attend or attended Bartlett, East and West Anchorage High Schools, and the feeder middle schools of Begich, Central, Clark, Romig and Wendler. The Fund shall support high quality leadership training such as the Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute and leadership programs that incorporate Alaska PYLI curriculum, community service activities, service-learning methods, creative leadership exercises, and student volunteerism that addresses community problems through student-led volunteer service projects.
